‘Mind The Map’ Exhibition

Sunday 19th - Sunday 26th October 2025

Promotional poster for an art exhibition titled 'Mind the Map' with abstract, graffiti-inspired artwork background. Contains event details, dates October 19-26, 2023, online and at Waterloo Station, in collaboration with artist Marc Craig and 55 artists, on itvoids.com.

London artist Marc Craig brings together over 50 artists for MIND THE MAP — a landmark exhibition transforming maps into imaginative portals of creativity. With up to 110 works, the project becomes a living atlas of how artists chart memory, identity, and place.

“Maps have always fascinated me,” says Craig. “They are at once practical and deeply symbolic — they tell us where we are, but also who we are. With MIND THE MAP, I invited dozens of artists to navigate those lines, borders, and territories in their own way. What emerged is an atlas of human creativity.”

The show spans a spectrum of voices — from emerging talents making their first mark, to established names evolving their practice, to renowned figures whose work shapes the contemporary scene. Each map speaks individually and as part of a collective journey.

‘Black Identity in Contemporary Britain’ Exhibition

7th - 9th November 2025 6:00pm - 9:00pm

This November, Garage Gallery in Walthamstow hosts Black Identity in Contemporary Britain (7–9 November 2025), a weekend group show curated by Daniel Smalling-Bennett that brings together four London artists exploring heritage, belonging and everyday life.

The line-up includes Natasha Awuku — whose paintings depict dream-like, nature-infused paintings and a parallel music practice; Daniel Smalling-Bennett — a painter and creative-workshop instructor whose portraiture often weaves Afro-Caribbean iconography with personal history; Kyle “Skcava” — a bold illustrator/designer working in vibrant digital and pop-influenced imagery; and Sianée Amelia — a self-taught artist known for finely rendered, hyperreal charcoal and portrait work.

It is curated by Daniel, who tells us:

"This exhibition aims to explore the complex and multifaceted themes of Black identity and culture within contemporary British society. It will centre on the lived experiences of African/ Afro-Caribbean individuals growing up in the boroughs of North-East London such as Haringey, Hackney, Waltham Forest.

Drawing on both personal and collective histories, this exhibition will delve into the nuances of navigating British society while celebrating our represented cultures in the black diaspora. The curated space will spotlight the tension between Westernization and its impact on African/ Afro-Caribbean culture”.

Drop by the private view on Friday 7th or pop in over the weekend to see fresh takes on Black British identity — expect colour, storytelling and work that feels both personal and immediate.
